Dhoni unveils Mahi Racing Team for World Super Sports Championship 2013

Ace Indian cricketer Mahindra Singh Dhoni unveiled the new name for his World Super Sports team, Mahi Racing Team India, with its 2013 riders at a grand ceremony in Mumbai, India.

The team was previously called MSDR–N Racing and went into few confusions over its promoters and the name earlier this year.

The team is promoted by Mahindra Sign Dhoni, South Indian Actor Nagarjuna and Rhiti Sports and have already grabbed a podium with Dan Linfoot in the Super Sports category at the final round of the world championships.

In 2013, Mahi Racing will feature a strong line up of riders like triple WSS champion Kenan Sofouglu and former winner Fabien Foret, who will join existing members Dan Linfoot and Florian Marino. Signed by Kawasaki as its factory team, with technical direction in the hands of Andrew Stone, the Mahi Racing Team riders will be testing the Ninja ZX–6R bikes during the winter and next year will be aiming for the 2013 championship title.

Arun Pandey, Chairman and Managing Director of the Mahi Racing Team, declared: "We were targeting mid–table finishes to form a base for the next season. But the team put up a sterling performance and created history by pulling off a podium finish after just five rounds. Our rider Dan Linfoot finished a remarkable third in Magny–Cours, France. Our crew did an outstanding job by setting up the team in such a short time."

With the Indian Round of the World Superbike and World Supersport championships scheduled next year at the Buddh International Circuit on March 10, Mahi Racing Team will be poised to grab top honours as they already have revealed championship hopes with triple champion Sofugulu.

Dhoni being a big fan of superbikes and now a professional racing team owner also plans to start a Motorcycle Racing School to train young riders in India. The base camp will possibly be at MMRT Track in Chennai additional sessions in Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore and BIC in Noida.
